Get Started with CataSEO and Begin Optimizing in Just 10–15 Minutes

Step 1 - Install CataSEO

Installing CataSEO is quick and easy. Simply locate the app in the BigCommerce Marketplace and click the Install button in the App Installation block.

You will then update CataSEO's access and be prompted to Confirm the installation.

Step 2 - Set Up & Optimize Your Profile

This is where you shape how CataSEO works for your business. You’ll set your preferences for:
 

  • Tone of Voice

  • Brand Guidelines

  • Optimization Priority
     

These settings ensure your product content sounds like your brand and focuses on what matters most to your business.

Choose which products you would like CataSEO to choose to optimize first. This can be changed at any time.

Once you have made all of your selections, click the Save Profile button.  Again, you can update at any time.

Step 4 - Optimizing Your Products, Categories & Brands

CataSEO gives you two powerful ways to optimize your catalog (in batches or on demand) depending on your workflow and priorities.​​

Batch Processing (Subscription-Based)

Once a month, you’ll receive an email when your next batch is ready based on your subscription. Simply log into CataSEO, go to the Awaiting Review tab, and select a product to review.

Note: Only Products are optimized in batches. Categories and Brands are optimized individually.

On demand, you can use your Express Tokens to optimize any Product, Category, or Brand whenever you choose.

CataSEO - Product Review & Approval

CataSEO will then show you existing product data, side-by-side with our AI-generated recommendations, in your voice.  You can make your choices and post to your BigCommerce store as follows:

​

  • Keep Original or Use AI Suggestion - for each individual data field you can choose to keep the original data or use CataSEO's AI generated recommendation.   You can also edit the AI Suggestion, after which you can select Save.  You can also "Reset to Pending" if you want to reverse your edits.​

​

Note:  You do NOT have to check the "Use AI Suggestion" button for every data field.  If you agree with them all, you can simply click Approve All & Accept at the bottom of the screen.

  Other functions on this page:

​

  • Re-generate Optimization - if you would like CataSEO to re-optimize the data, click this button and it will start again with this product.  There is no charge for this.
    ​

  • Approve All & Submit - this will take every suggestion, whether original, edited or accepted and post to your BigCommerce product database.​

Step 3 - Load Your Products, Categories & Brands

Once your preferences are set, CataSEO will load your product catalog into our system. This gives us what we need to optimize your products, categories, and brands.
 

It also creates a backup so you can “rewind” any product to a previous version if needed.

After loading, you’ll see your Products, Categories, and Brands organized into three tabs:

  • Pending: Products ready to be optimized one at a time using Express Tokens.

  • Awaiting Review: Products that have been optimized and are ready for your review, editing, or approval.

  • Approved: Products that have already been optimized and published and can be restored to previous versions.

Step 5 - Review and Submit

Depending upon whether you are using Batch Processing or optimization on demand, your products are going end up going into 1 of 3 "buckets":

​

  • Pending - products that haven't been optimized in the past year, and are ready to be optimized on demand using Express Tokens.
     

  • Awaiting Review - products that have been processed in a batch and await your review and approval before they can be posted to your BigCommerce product database.

CataSEO - Awaiting Review

  • Approved - items that you have previously approved and posted to your BigCommerce product database.  For these products, you have two options:
     

    • Optimize - this will allow you to re-optimize any particular product.  This will require the use of 1 Express Token.
       

    • Revert - this will restore the product back to the most recent version in your store and place it back into the Awaiting Review tab.  Within CataSEO it will reload the optimization data to allow you to start over.
