Total Ranking Keywords
Total Ranking Keywords is the number of distinct search terms for which Google shows any page from your site somewhere in its top 50 results, as tracked by Moz. It's a breadth measure: how much of your catalogue is findable at all, regardless of position. Read alongside your product count, it tells you how much of your store is invisible — a shop with 800 products and 60 ranking terms has most of its catalogue ranking for nothing.
The number grows when product pages carry enough distinct, specific content for Google to associate them with more searches. A page that says only the product name and price can rank, at best, for that name; a page that describes what the item is, who it's for, what it's made of, its size and its use can rank for a dozen phrasings on its own. It shrinks when pages are thin, duplicated, hidden by a noindex tag or a sold-out setting, or never crawled because nothing links to them. It's the first number to watch after fixing an on-site defect, because it reflects whether Google can now see the pages that were hidden.
What it means for your store
Low (under 50): most products aren't found for anything — invisible, not just under-ranked.
Typical (50–500): the gap between this and your product count is your headroom.
Broad (500+): well indexed; the work is moving terms up.
Why it matters
A product that ranks for nothing can't be bought from search. Your product count against your ranking-term count is the size of the unfound catalogue.
How CataSEO helps
CataSEO gives each product a description that says what it is, who it's for and what it's made of — a page like that ranks for several terms on its own; a name-and-price page ranks for none.
What you can do yourself
Breadth comes from every product having a page Google can find and understand. Check the plumbing first: in Search Console, compare pages indexed against your product count, and look for products hidden by a noindex tag, a password, an "unavailable" status or a sold-out setting that removes the page. Then check every product sits in at least one collection with its own written description, that collections link to products and products link back, and that your sitemap is submitted. Finally the content: a product page with a one-line description ranks for nothing; one that names the item, who it's for, what it's made of, sizing and use ranks for several terms on its own. Start with the products you'd most like to sell.
