CataSEO reads your catalog when you set up your store and uses what it finds to shape how it writes your product pages, which sites it compares you against, and which publications it reads for content ideas. Review and correct any of this at any time from Settings → Store analysis.
What’s on the page
- Business description — what your store sells and who it’s for. Keeps generated copy on topic.
- Market — two to four words for the market you sell into, like “upland hunting” or “Scandinavian design”. CataSEO uses this to find competitors and the publications worth writing about.
- Competitors we found — the sites CataSEO compares your product content against. Remove any that aren’t real rivals, and add ones CataSEO missed with Add a competitor.
- Sites we read for your market — the blogs, magazines, and associations CataSEO watches to see what your market is writing about. Each one is tagged competitor, publication, or few articles — not counted.
Nothing on this page is visible to your customers — it’s only used to inform what CataSEO writes.
Changing your market
Editing Market and clicking away re-searches for sites in that market automatically. Two buttons under the sites list let you run that search again on demand:
- Look for sources again — adds any new sites it finds. Nothing you already have is removed.
- Rebuild the list — searches again and keeps only what it finds this time. Sites found again keep everything already learned about them; ones no longer found drop off. Sites you removed yourself stay removed, and your competitors list above isn’t touched.

FAQ
Does changing my business description or market re-optimize my existing products?
No. It changes what CataSEO uses for new optimizations and content going forward. Already-optimized products keep their existing copy.
Will my customers see anything on this page?
No. Your business description, market, competitors, and sources are used internally to guide what CataSEO writes — they never appear on your storefront.
Where did the initial competitors and sources come from?
CataSEO reads a sample of your real categories and products during setup and searches for your market’s competitors and publications automatically. Correct anything it got wrong here at any time.
I changed my market and my source list looks different — did I lose anything?
Changing the market retires sites tied to the old market rather than deleting them, and brings back anything the new search re-finds. If you want the previous list back, set the market back to what it was and click Look for sources again.
